Letshego appoints managing director

Letshego has appointed Mr Smit Crouse as its new group managing director.

Giving his maiden media briefing on recently, Mr Crouse, who took office on September 24 , said his systematic approach to his first 100 days in office would be focused on three areas of listening, learning and supporting.

He said he looked forward to engaging all stakeholders of the group, including customers, shareholders and regulators in order to better position the group for the future.

He said in order for the Letshego Group to appreciate the views of its stakeholders, it would require him to listen to them and find out how the organisation was seen and perceived. He said it would afford him an opportunity to learn whether the business was in a healthy position.

He further said he intended to offer support to Letshego employees to encourage and help them deliver results so that they could achieve their goals in the short-term. 

To achieve this, he said he planned to be as open and transparent as possible to not only his employees, but also Letshego’s other stakeholders to ensure that everything was done by the book, and that people were held accountable for their actions.

Furthermore, Mr Crouse said he had already taken an executive decision to renew the lease for Letshego’s head office that was to expire by the end of this month.

He highlighted that it was important for the business to move from strength to strength and that the organisation should never neglect its roots and core.

Mr Crouse has over 20 years of experience in multinational, private and multilateral sectors of finance, commerce and law. 

His extensive international and regional experience across multiple sectors will lead the Letshego Group in its pursuit of providing customers with compelling value propositions whilst creating stakeholder value.

He has practiced international commercial law and held various execute roles in commerce. He holds an LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Pretoria and has completed management and board director development programmes at Harvard Business School, Oxford and Singularity University. ENDS
