BDF VI men volleyball team continue title challenge

13 Sep 2018

BDF VI men’s team will continue their quest to win the Mascom Volleyball League when they take on Yaros Olympic Club and Desert Kings at the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) hall in Molepolole on September 15.

The army team opened a three point gap at the top of the league standings last weekend by beating title rivals Kutlwano 3-2 and Itekeng 3-1 in Jwaneng.

They lead the log with 52 points from 18 matches followed by Police VI and Kutlwano with 49 points each.

BDF VI have been in great form since the second round started and have won all the seven matches they have played.

They would begin their encounter with Yaros at 1 pm and Desert Kings at 5 pm, and they are overwhelming favourites to stretch their winning run.

But Yaros, which shocked Diphatsa with a 3-2 victory in Serowe last weekend, have shown many times that they are no pushovers.

They came within a whisker of beating Kutlwano in a thrilling match a fortnight ago.

Desert Kings on the other hand come into the match on the back of a woeful sequence of results.

They have lost all the 16 matches they have played so far and are bottom of the league, and their tussle with the army team could result in a thrashing for the Kings. In other men’s league matches in Molepolole tomorrow, Mag Stimela play Desert Kings and Police VI.

Still tomorrow at Otse Police College, Spiking Stars clash with Itekeng and Diphatsa, while Prisons tussles with Diphatsa and Mafolofolo take on Itekeng.

On September 16, Prisons welcome Yaros in Molepolole at 10 am while Kutlwano meet Police in a heavy weight clash at 2 pm.

There will be three ladies league matches this weekend.

Second placed Mag Stimela will take on Police VI in Molepolole at 9 am while Yaros face BDF VI in Molepolole at 8 am on Sunday and Police meet title chasing Kutlwano at the same venue at 12 noon. ENDS
