Passion has always been the driving force behind all successful businesses.

Also, those who put their heart to winning always emerge victorious despite the challenges.

One person who is living her passion is emerging fashion designer Boitumelo Ntsowe.

The 23-year-old Ntsowe of Boi’s Creative Designs, says she is driven by passion and the love for fashion, hence she has since joined the industry, via a small company and has since turned her life around for the better.

In an interview with BOPA, Ntsowe said the idea to venture into fashion popped up after she could not find employment even with her Degree in HealthCare Management from Boitekanelo College.

She said the idea to stay idle and lose focus did not sit well with her, hence the decision to resort to making ends meet.

Ntsowe said as a young woman who loves fashion, it was not difficult for her to follow her heart and find solace in that which she loved.

“It was my grandmother who is a tailor, who sharpened my skills in tailoring and I have since learned a lot from her,” she said.

She said even though she started just making designs for herself, people loved the outcome and so she decided to sell them and earn a living.

Ntsowe said currently, she was focusing on women’s clothing, especially the German print, as many women use it for different occasions and it suits a vast array of events and celebrations.

She thanked social media for marketing her products, saying she also poses as the model for her Facebook page.

“It is through social media that I get exposure and the many customers I have, have seen me on social media and I make the designs for them,” she gushed.

Ntsowe said even though she was still working from home, she plans to have a place of operation, revealing that her intention was to start small, save money to buy machinery and materials, then employ others and grow her company.

She said the saying, ‘Rome was not built in a day’ is also her mantra as she believes that she has the potential to become a businesswoman of repute as she takes the necessary small steps to grow her business.

Ntsowe said she would like to register a company so that she operates a legal entity and be able to spread her wings to grab opportunities.

She said although she operated her business in Mochudi, most of her customers were from Gaborone, which she said might force her to relocate to the city.

When quizzed on whether she planned to find employment, the upcoming business lady said she had always wanted to be her own boss, so finding employment was not on the cards.

She said she had told herself that she could make it and she had since started to believe it and it was a great feeling. ENDS
