Eagle World Development donates

A Japanese Company, Eagle World Development which specialises in the manufacturing of digital migration equipment, has donated 500 set top boxes worth P240 000 to Botswana government.
The company’s chief executive officer, Mr Kenji Sagayama presented the gadgets, which will be used in government institutions , to the Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Dr Gloria Somolekae in Gaborone on July 30.
Presenting the gadgets, Mr Sagayama said the 500 set top boxes are for the startup of the implementation of digital terrestrial television broadcasting in the country.
He expressed hope that the set top boxes will go a long way in assuring easy access by government institutions to the new picture, e- government messages as well as educational material that shall be broadcast through digital television.
Receiving the donation, Dr Somolekae thanked the company and the Japanese government for the good gesture it has extended to the Botswana government.
She said the donated gadgets will go a long way in improving the quality of television reception. Dr Somolekae said the gadgets will also enhance the livelihood of people who will receive educational information. ENDS
