30 Aug 2018
Third placed Kutlwano men’s team have a chance to reduce the gap between them and Mascom Volleyball League leaders BDF VI this weekend(September 1 - 2).
The ‘Big House’ clashes with seventh-placed Spiking Stars at Otse Police College on September 1 evening and then take on Yaros Olympic Club at the same place on September 2 morning.
With both BDF VI, which tops the table with 46 points from 16 matches and second-placed Police VI inactive this weekend, Kutlwano could close the gap between them and first position to a single point if they win the two matches.
On paper the ‘Big House’ should have no problems beating their weekend opponents. They are a team breaming with confidence after dispatching rivals Mafolofolo 3-0 in their previous encounter.
However, Spiking Stars are equally confident after securing two victories against Mag Stimela 3-2 and Yaros 3-1 last weekend.
They are set to give Kutlwano a good run for their money.
Other men’s league encounters in Otse on Saturday will be between Spiking Stars take and struggling Prisons VI as well as Yaros and Mafolofolo.
The same day in Serowe a titanic clash will take place between fourth-placed Kalavango and fifth-placed Diphatsa at 12pm, with Kalavango afterwards clashing with Mag Stimela and Diphatsa taking on Mag Stimela.
In the ladies matches in Serowe, Mag Stimela will have an opportunity to consolidate their leadership of the log when they lock horns with mid-table Kalavango on September 1 at 10am.
Kutlwano ladies who are five points behind Mag Stimela, would be looking to secure victories against Yaros on September 1 and Spiking Stars on Sunday in Otse to continue putting pressure at the top.
