Sebolao embroiders with passion

Mr Alfred Sebolao has commended government for empowering unemployed youth through programmes such as Youth Development Fund.
In an interview, the 37-year-old said he received funding to the tune of P100 00 in 2016 to start an embroidery company he named Padlock.
He said he developed a passion for embroidery when working for a company in Ramotswa that manufactured sportswear and does embroidery.
As luck would have it, he said he was sent for a seven-day embroidery course in Johannesburg, South Africa and later left the company.
His business he said had its challenges since it competed with big and resourced companies.
“Most companies which I market my business to have their headquarters in Gaborone and they have already established relationships with companies there which affects us here but I am happy because my work has improved and I match their standards and hoping for a better future,” he said.
The multi-talented Sebolao said his company has helped shape his music career and his upcoming album was sponsored by his company.
He said servicing the loan was not easy since Selebi Phikwe was experiencing an ailing economy and customers in need of his services were few and far between.
Mr Sebolao encouraged youth to use their talents to their advantage and improve their lives. ENDS
