Parliament has been informed that there are no headmen of records countrywide who are awaiting absorption into the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development’s payment of allowance scheme.
Answering a question in Parliament on July 25, the Assistant Minister Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said since headmen of records were not paid allowance but salaries, they were absorbed immediately when their posts were newly created or were vacant.
She also noted that as headmen of records were not paid an allowance scheme, there were none in the waiting list to date. The MP for Tonota North, Mr Fidelis Molao had asked the minister to state the number of headmen of records countrywide who were awaiting absorption into the ministry’s payment of allowance scheme.
He had also wanted the minister to state the number that the ministry is able to absorb each year and when all headmen of records will be absorbed.
In addition the MP wanted to know the number of those who have been in the waiting list from the date the allowance scheme was introduced to date, noting that he should further state future plans in place if there are any. ENDS
