Invest wisely in your future

Molepolole- based volleyball team, Real Shooters, which won the constituency tournament nationals in Selebi Phikwe recently have been urged to be wise and invest well in their future as a team.
In an interview on the sidelines of the appreciation dinner for the team in Molepolole recently, former Kweneng District Council chairperson, Motlhophi Leo urged the team to invest their prize money wisely in a way that would benefit them in the future.
He said government encouraged Batswana to contribute to the development of the country, citing that sport on its own was a business which could create employment.
He encouraged them to work together as a team, expressing belief that they were responsible people with common goals.
Leo further said most of the teams break apart after such big achievement as most of them fight for money.
He said it was up to them as a team to maintain a good standard as their hard work could benefit them a lot.
He advised the team to have a committee, which made decisions that helped them to grow and bond together
When giving a word of encouragement, Molepolole South MP, Dr Tlamelo Mmatli said signs were visible that the team could earn a living through sport and improve their living standard.
He said their determination, commitment, perseverance and hardwork brought them an achievement in life, urging them to continue with the good spirit.
He further said they should lead by example as they were now an excelling team in Molepolole South constituency, saying that most of the teams would now look upon them.
Meanwhile, a representative from the office of youth in Molepolole Reabetswe Jaba urged the team to explore ways through, which they could invest like starting a cooperative as well as doing community services so that society could recognise them.
He encouraged them to know their goals and always push forward as this would help the team to develop and achieve more as well as to progress well in life.
For his part, Real Shooters coach Thomas Nunda said the team was established in 2008 and it was the first time to win gold.
He further said they became silver medallists twice, citing that his team helped to promote players to the national league.
He said to help generate income for the team, they had resorted to selling sport shoes to other teams even though the money generated was not sufficient.
Nunda said they were faced with challenges like lack of grounds for practice which hindered them to practice regularly. ENDS
