The presence of FSG Limited in Sub-Saharan Africa has created a legacy as well as product development in the sub-region, says group managing director, Mr Mike Nikolic.
Speaking during a press briefing, Mr Nikolic said their presence in Sub-Saharan Africa had afforded them an opportunity to be of service to many families who looked to them in times of need.
“Our products are seen and used in countries such as Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda,” said Mr Nikolic.
He noted that what started as a family business in 1993 had grown from the manufacturing of coffins and caskets to involve funeral services and private cemeteries, assurance, property and catering.
Mr Nikolic said in the period, FSG Limited continued to expand to other countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
“To us, this is more than just a business. It is a service and our customers are at the centre of everything that we do,” he said, adding that they have continuously upgraded their service and introducing new services and products based on their customers’ feedback.
Mr Nikolic said FSG Limited took pride in that they had played a leading role in the evolution and modernisation of the funeral services sector in the region.
He said what made them what they were was the fact that they were customer-centric. He noted that before FSG Limited was established in Botswana, all coffins were manufactured in South Africa and that most people without funeral cars or hearses.
“Nowadays the funeral industry has evolved into a very modern and high technology industry from the systems they used to have to modern infrastructure and equipment offered,” he said.
Mr Nikolic thanked stakeholders and the community, noting that FSG Limited had also given back to the community by supporting sports, the disabled, Sankoyo Bush Bucks, children and housing projects among others. ENDS
