Wells dominate Phikwe Extravaganza

Jwaneng Softball etiquette, Wells Softball Club dominated the 2018 Selebi Phikwe Softball Extravaganza as both the male and female teams took the spectacular games into their hands to be crowned the 2018 extravaganza champions.

Both teams pocketed P60 000, a trophy and gold medals to make the Jwaneng softball outfit P120 000 richer. 

This time around, Police IX women’s team who are the 2017 reigning champions did not manage to keep their winning caps on in final game as their opponents, Wells came from behind to wallop Police 5-4. 

In the men’s side, Wells, the defending champions also demonstrated why the 2017 winners as they demolished Gatalamotho 10-0 in the final match.

Though Wells dominated and won the game, point collection for them was not an easy task because Gatalamotho guards on the field did quit well.

However, Wells capitalised on the loose ends and mistakes made by their counterparts and managed to pull through and win the game.

Gatalamotho came second and won P40 000 and silver medals.

Rail Giants walked away with P30 000 and bronze medals, while Vaal University of Technology from South Africa came in fourth place and won P20 000 while Police IX won P18 000.

Comets and Bears took home P15 000 and P13 000 respectively. Carats came in on the eighth spot and was given P12 000 while Rebels on the ninth position as well as Bats and Balls from Zimbabwe took home P10 000 each.

The same acknowledgment, medals and price money as well as award of trophies applied in the women’s category where Police XI came in second, followed by Vikings then Carats in fourth position while Comets obtained the fifth position and UB Giants sixth spot.

Sua Raiders came in seventh, Scramblers came in eighth and Bats and Balls came in position nine. ENDS
