The restructuring of Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) project commenced in September 2016 and is expected to be complete by August 2019.

Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi said this when responding to a question in Parliament from Francistown South MP, Wynter Mmolotsi.Since the restructuring, Mr Moipisi agreed that banks were not willing to give employees loans on account of uncertainty of their future.

However, he said with the commencement of implementation of the project, ‘it was expected that the uncertainty would eventually fade away.

”Mr Mmolotsi wanted to know when the restructuring at WUC started, when the exercise was going to be completed and if the minister was aware that since restructuring began, banks were not willing to give employees loans on account of uncertainty of their future. ENDS
