26 Jul 2013
Parliament has been informed that 47 members of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) remained with zero balance in their advice slips as a result of the suspension of the delinking exercise and this has not affected their jobs.
Responding to a question on July 25, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse said the High Command has and continued to engage with the affected members on an individual basis to determine the best option in resolving their financial problems.
Mr Seretse however noted that there were no officers who have tendered any resignations as a result of the delinking exercise.
Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to state the number of BDF members who remained with zero balance in their advice slips following the suspension of the delinking exercise and how this has affected their jobs.
Mr Mmolotsi had also wanted to know what has been the advice given from high authorities to the affected officers and how many of them have since tendered their resignations on account of the situation. ENDS
