Lobatse Sports Complex is structurally sound and currently in a habitable state and safe to use, says Assistant Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele. Responding to a question in Parliament, Mr Makgalemele said the facility had been maintained within the budgetary resources available to the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) for maintenance.

He said BNSC had entered into a maintenance contract with a local company to ensure continued good state of use for the stadium on an ongoing basis and his ministry had also established a facilities management unit to ensure proactive maintenance. Lobatse MP, Advocate Sadique Kebonang had asked the minister if he was aware of the deteriorating condition of the Lobatse Stadium facilities and if so when the facility would be attended. BOPA
