Nation seeks divine intervention
09 Jul 2018
Different Christian denominations on Sunday converged at Boipuso hall and raised their voice to God in unison, thanking him for what he has done for the nation and also calling on him to continue protecting Batswana.
The prayers, held annually as part of the activities of the President’s Day celebrations, are a symbol of the unity that Batswana enjoy despite the diversity in among others, their cultures and traditions, political affiliation and religious views.
Among the activities of the combined church service, the churches prayed for people holding leadership positions in different capacities.
They also prayed to God to deliver the nation from the various societal ills bedeviling the nation such as murders, drug abuse and delinquency among the youth.
In wrapping up the prayers, the churches made a thanksgiving prayer for what the Lord has over the years done for the nation.
The congregation thanked God for the peace that has for decades been prevailing in Botswana.
Delivering the sermon of the day, former president of the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana Reverend Master Matlhaope highlighted God’s love and protection over the nation of Botswana.
He thus implored Batswana to continue holding on to their trust and faith in God. Ends
