25 Jul 2013

Parliament has been informed that due to limited resources, the Ministry of Transport and Communications plans to grade at least four gravel roads every three months in Boteti Sub-district this financial year.

Answering a parliamentary question on Wednesday, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefi said priority would be given to Thalamabele Veterinary Gate/Mosu, Mosu/Mmatshumo, Letlhakane/Khwee, and Mokoboxane/Kedia roads.

Mr Molefhi said the grading activity would commence beginning of September. Other gravel roads in the sub-district under the ministry were the ones linking Mokubilo and Mmea, Xhumo and Kedia, Rakops and Toromoja, and Rakops and Xere.

He explained that tarred roads in the Sub-district would be maintained routinely as and when conditions dictated. Mr Molefi also said the resealing of Khumaga-Motopi road, which commenced last month, was expected to be completed in June next year.

MP for Boteti North, Mr Slumber Tsogwane had asked the minister to explain maintenance plans for roads in Boteti Sub-district. ENDS
