Ministry intensifies outreach

At least 2 099 pupils out of a total enrolment of 9 065 primary school pupils do not have birth cerificates in all the 18 primary schools in the Nkange constituency.
Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Ms Dorcas Makgato said the ministry as of May 21 intensified the outreach progrmme across Nkange constituency to provide registration services including birth registration.
The outreach programme, minister Makgato said covered communities in New and Old Sabasi, Maitengwe, Dagwi, Changate, Moletswe, Nkange, Mabuwe, Senete, Goshwe, Matobo, Makuta and Nswazwi, which include primary schools in these areas as well.
Minister Makgato was responding to a question in Parliament from MP for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu, who had asked the Minister to state the number of pupils at the 18 primary schools in the Nkange constituency who did not have birth certificates and to state plans in place to ensure that all pupils were issued with such.
