Lack of funds hinders construction
27 Jun 2018
Parliament has learnt that construction of the Botswana Livestock Development Corporation (BLDC) farm for Phuduhudu residents in Maun East constituency has been delayed due to funding constraints.
The farm was allocated to Phuduhudu residents to utilise under the RADP communal farms.
Assistant minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse told Parliament on June 26 that he was constrained to state as to when the project would commence because it had no financial provision for the 2018/2019 financial year.
Maun East MP, Mr Kostatinos Markus had asked the minister if she was aware that Phuduhudu residents were given BLDC farm to utilise, if so, he asked the minister what delayed the construction of the project. ENDS
