26 Jun 2018
Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Ms Dorcas Makgato says her ministry has no plans to open Civil and National Registration (Omang) satellite offices in Francistown for the current financial year.
Addressing Parliament recently, Ms Makgato said her ministry had intensified its outreach programmes across the country to ensure that backlog was dealt with by August 31 this year.
She said in Francistown, services were offered at Monarch Kgotla on June 26 and would be offered at Gerald Estates on June 27, Tatitown on June 28 and Phase 4 on August 3.
Ms Makgato said her ministry was working round the clock to ensure that it facilitated Batswana to be ready for the upcoming general elections.
MP for Francistown East, Mr Buti Billy had asked the minister whether in view of the ever increasing population of Francistown, she would consider establishing at least two satellite offices taking into account the upcoming general elections. ENDS
