Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Thato Kwerepe says Ghanzi Senior Secondary School refurbishment is budgeted at P55. 6 million.

Mr Kwerepe told Parliament on Monday that after completion of the refurbishment of the school, the hostels would be habitable.

Mr Kwerepe said the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development was currently tendering for the maintenance of Ghanzi Senior Secondary School and the project was expected to commence this financial year.

Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae, had asked the minister if he was aware that school hostels at Ghanzi secondary were “filthy and inhabitable”.

Mr Salakae also wanted to know whether the situation would be addressed during this financial year and how much was budgeted for the project.

He also wanted to know as to when the situation would be improved. ENDS
