No salary or allowance for first lady

There is no consideration in the form of salary or allowance for the first lady in her involvement in charitable work and ceremonial activities, says Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Nonofo Molefhi. Responding to a question in Parliament, Mr Molefhi said there was no office created by law or regulation or directive called Office of the First Lady. Selibe Phikwe West MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state if the office of the First Lady was institutionalised by law and if the First Lady received a salary or an allowance considering the significant responsibilities of the office.
