No benefits for former employees children
21 Jun 2018
Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mr Fidelis Molao says children of the former employees of Tati Nickel Company and BCL who are at tertiary education level do not benefit from government assistance that has been extended to those at primary and secondary school.
Mr Molao noted that those at tertiary education level could instead apply for the Pick-Up Sponsorship dispensation that applies to all eligible individuals already enrolled at local tertiary education institutions..
Answering a question in Parliament, Mr Molao explained that the Pick-Up Sponsorship required that students should have acquired 36 points or better at Botswana Government Certificate of Secondary Education.
Member of Parliament for Francistown East Mr Buti Billy had asked the minister if the children of former employees of Tati Nickel Company and BCL benefited from government assistance as was the case with those at primary and secondary schools. ENDS
