Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo has told Parliament that Boteti Brigade offered three courses that require the use of equipment and tools.
The courses, he said were Carpentry and Joinery, Bricklaying and Borehole Drilling.
Minister Mabeo said all vocations had working tools and equipment except for Borehole Mechanics, which had two machines that needed to be replaced and one in need of repair.
He said two the machines that needed to be replaced were utilised until December 2017, and it would cost close to P550 000 to replace and repair the machines.
Mr Mabeo said due to financial constraints, it had been difficult to carry out the repair and replacement of machines at the brigade.
He further said the machines would be replaced in this financial year and the ITT for such was being prepared
Boteti East MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the minister to brief Parliament on the status of tools or machinery used to assist students at Boteti Brigade.
He wanted to know the list of all worn out machinery at Boteti Brigade and the courses the instruments were used for as well as how much it would cost government to replace such machines. ENDS
