EA security services business thrives

A security company known as EA Security Services operating in Mahalapye is striving against all odds to achieve greatness by providing safety and security to residential and business premises in the area.
The challenges of the modern times, which have contributed to the growing rate of crime in different parts of the country, have presented a business opportunity for the youthful, Mr Nepharty Bhusumane.
Mr Bhusumane is the owner of EA Security Services, who explained in an interview that it was also his love of matters of security and investigations that made him venture into such kind of a business.
Even though he did not land his dream job, the universe gave him a signal in 2013 and he decided to open his own security company.
Kick started through personal savings, Mr Bhusumane said the security business started small and it was quite a struggle, but giving up was never an option for him.
“I landed my first tender with Central Transport Organisation (CTO) premises with six security guards and the job was only for a short term. My initial effort to expand my business through Youth Development Fund (YDF) was not successful as I hit a snag,” he said.
Focused and determined to grow his dream, Mr Bhusumane’s patience paid off in 2015, as he finally drafted an application that convinced YDF to finance his business. “My breakthrough came towards the end of 2016 after landing a lucrative offer for my services,’ he said.
He noted that the business started to grow and blossom and in 2017, he landed a business deal through the District Health Management Team (DHMT). Through the tender, he managed to engage 104 security guards.
Mr Bhusumane says security services is quite an interesting and profitable industry though he was quick to mention that it was also a risky undertaking where one must be at par with the ever changing and sophisticated criminal acts.
Mr Bhusumane said a security business has its own unique challenges. He however added that besides the trials and tribulations, an entrepreneur must be determined to stand tall.
At present, the company has created 200 employment opportunities among them security guards while others held managerial, marketing and secretarial positions. He encourages other youth who are still unemployed to venture into the business sector since they cannot all be absorbed by the white collar job industry.
“As long as one is determined, everything is possible,” he added.
Mr Bhusumane said young people should not only look up to government as the sole provider as they also have a role to play in making a success of their lives.
He urged the youth to develop the spirit of self-reliance and consider government only if they needed assistance.
“Start small with what you have and appeal to government when necessary,” he said.
Bhusumane stated that young people are rich with ideas so they should work on bringing them to life.
He advised them to utilise their energy accordingly by engaging in business endeavours and desist from competing with the elderly for limited positions at short term employment opportunities such as Ipelegeng.
He said some people thought security work was for the uneducated hence his determination to work against that mindset by giving the industry the dignity and respect it deserved. Moreover, Mr Bhusumane said he regularly holds workshops to empower his workers and to reinstate confidence in them.
As security enforcement officers, the safety of the nation lies in their hands, hence they need to rise to the occasion, he concluded. Ends
