A case in which goods were undelivered at the South East District Council has been reported to Ramotswa police and it is under investigation.

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said the incident occurred in the 2012/2013 financial year, and that the council had reported the loss of funds to AON insurance and that a claim amounting to over P83 000 was made and honoured.

With regards to the repair of fire engine matter, she said the case was still ongoing at the Directorate of Economic Crime and they were awaiting the findings

The Member of Parliament for Ramotswa had asked the minister to explain progress of the South East District Council cases at the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime, payment for undelivered goods and the repair of the fire engine. ENDS
