Letshwiti not happy with premier league

Botswana football Association president, MacLean Letshwiti has expressed displeasure over Botswana Premier league’s handling of business.
Letshwiti did not mince words during the Botswana Premier League (BPL) annual general assembly held in Gaborone on June 2.
“Mr chairperson, this is the second or third meeting I am attending of the BPL and when meetings are called, they must start on time because that shows the seriousness of the organisation,” he said
He expressed concern about what he termed ‘casual mannerism’ at the BPL hence his request to address the general assembly.
Letshwiti said the BPL should introspect as to whether they were fulfilling their purpose.
“I am worried about BPL. If we don’t take ourselves serious, who is going to take us serious,” he said.
The BPL, he said was the window into Botswana football and if it did not perform according to expectations, then “it is failing the football fraternity in the country.”
However, Letshwiti toned down by congratulating the BPL for the successful 2017-2018 season, which he said went smoothly despite prevailing challenges.
He also congratulated Township Rollers for winning the championship for the third consecutive time.
“When I was addressing CAF, I told them that I was worried about the lower standard of football in Botswana, and CAF president stood up and said Township Rollers is the 20th team in Africa that is digitally followed. So they must be doing something right,” he said.
Letshwiti said it was therefore imperative that other teams in the league emulate Township Rollers in the way they were running the club. ENDS
