Customer centric approach crucial

Property development stakeholders have been advised to have a customer centric approach in all proceedings.
Officiating at a one-day Botswana Real Estate and Infrastructure Forum, acting deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Bareng Malatsi said stakeholders should facilitate socio economic development and be on the lookout for new growth opportunities.
Mr Malatsi said as a regulatory body in Botswana, Real Estate Assessment Centre (REAC) and Africa Property Investment (API), the leading real estate conferencing company in Africa, must connect to build worthy partnerships between governments and private sector for the benefit of customers.
He said the forum was testimony that stakeholders meetings were fruitful in brainstorming new ways through which the pursuit of global prosperity and economic wellbeing for all could be achieved.
He said the forum came at the right time when the country was marshalling efforts to create new avenues of national wealth creation.
Property and infrastructure development, Mr Malatsi said, were key drivers in ensuring firm standing in the economic growth.
He stated that key players provided short-term employment and long-term return investment, creating a sustainable path of economic growth and prosperity.
Mr Malatsi said the forum was expected to bridge the gap between the private and public sectors to fast track current developments thus opening doors for new opportunities for the growth of the economy.
Africans, he said, could bring about strategic collaborations and partnerships within the continent in coming up with home-brewed innovations to help grow the property market and infrastructure development.
He urged them to focus on identifying and showcasing best practices and allowing cross-pollination of ideas continentally.
“We have enough talent and expertise to devise our own paths to growth and prosperity,” he added.
In her remarks, Managing Director at Vintage Properties, Ms Sethebe Manake said sustainable development and technology were key factors in going forward.
Ms Manake said the country needed to evolve and adapt to growing technology.
