 The scheme of service for the boarding cadre in secondary schools has not been finalised.

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole told Parliament on July 22 that this was due to the fact that, when subjected to grading assessment by the Directorate of Public Service Management, the job of the boarding cadre in secondary schools failed to meet the aspects required to develop a scheme of service.

He noted that the distinct job specifications at different levels, as it was a requirement in any scheme of service and the increasing job complexities, as well as more skills required to perform at different levels could not be established.

Consequently, a scheme of service could not be developed and feedback has since been given to all boarding cadre personnel as well as their supervisors accordingly.

The minister was answering a question asked by the Member of Parliament for Lobatse Mr Nehemiah Modubule who had asked him whether the scheme of service for the boarding cadre in secondary schools has been finalised and effected. ENDS
