Mini stadium in offing for MoshupaManyana Sub-district

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development will construct a min stadium in Moshupa/Manayana Sub-district.
Addressing the sub-district leadership consultative kgotla meeting at Moshupa recently, the youth ministry senior programes officer, Tebogo Maoketsa said such facility was set to cater for different sporting codes.
She said the sub-district was amongst the 10 which will benefit from such development throughout the country.
She however pleaded with the community to help them in locating a suitable place for the facility.
She said population density as well as suitability of soil was a consideration in the selection process.
Maoketsa said the stadium would raise the village profile and it would also bring in business to the village since people would be coming in from different parts of the country to attend the hosted events, which will contribute to village sports tourism as well as the economic development.
She added thata the said facility would also help to develop talented sports personnel within the district and also support and encourage community fitness and wellness.
In response, one of the villagers Mr Ben Ben applauded such development.
He said the facility would significantly contribute to their development.
He added that this would also enhance health education, youth networking as well as boosting and allowing for emerging businesses which would reduce unemployment rates and alleviate poverty.
He however reminded the community that such developments brought along both the good and the bad news.
“This may result in relocation of some homesteads and we therefore have to prepare our minds for whatever the situation that may arise whilst putting in mind that this is a benefit for us all,” Mr Ben said.
Kgosi Kebinatshwene Mosielele of Manyana also applauded the development but however reminded authorities to consider not only the necessities in terms of location but equal dispersion of projects throughout the constituency.
He pleaded with them to make sure that smaller villages also benefited more so that development was a need in every person’s livelihood.
He added that some available tourism amenities like roads and accommodation were also of importance in placement of such facilities. ENDS
