Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) tourism development manager for Chobe, Mr Mokganedi Ntana says the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) has partnered with South Africa’s Tshwane Legends Bikers Club (TLB) to promote tourism in the five countries that make KAZA.
In an interview in Kasane during a familiarisation tour by the bikers, Mr Ntana said the five countries have a transfrontier that they needed to market to citizens and the rest of the world through different interest groups hence the bikers.
He said the bikers have a huge social media following and that engaging them would help market the transfrontier park to those who love biking.
Mr Ntana said while the five countries were sovereign it should be appreciated that they have an interconnected product which was the transfrontier park.
He said he was excited that the bikers would have an opportunity to appreciate the rich and diverse landscapes in the KAZA region.
The TLB public relations officer, Mr Ernest Mokganedi said the biking community was one of the fastest growing, and that he was optimistic that using the bikers to promote tourism in the region would assist.
