Voyager Inn bridges hospitality gap

20 May 2018

The newly opened Voyager Inn Hotel in Palapye is expected to create job opportunities for tourism and hospitality graduates.

The director of the hotel, Mr Pabalelo Thaba said he started his hospitality business from humble beginnings,

He said he established Voyager Inn in 2011 after him and his wife bought a plot adjacent to theirs to create enough space to implement their envisaged project.

He said the 100 per cent citizen owned hotel was funded by CEDA to the tune of P3.8 million.

The name Voyager is derived from French, meaning a long journey, and it perfectly suites the long journey undertaken by the Thabas to make their dream a reality.

Voyager Inn Hotel is a luxurious hotel that provides high quality service with 15 rooms ranging from standard, deluxe to executive and employees 10 people.

The hotel aspires to be the most preferred hospitality resort of choice offering the best quality services both to local and international clientele at affordable prices.

“We are currently working on our conference centre to make it of high standard, and we are looking forward to redesign the interior of the kitchen because we believe in continuous improvement,” Mr Thaba said.

He said all the design and construction stages would be undertaken by local youth contractors in a bid to empower them.

The hotel also offers other services like inside and outside catering.

Mr Thaba stated that the design was initially for three storeys, but that it changed due to the building standards and regulations, adding that Voyager Inn Hotel management planned to construct a swimming pool and a relaxation area where clients could have fun.

Mr Thaba said he was impressed with his family business, adding that their client base was growing. ENDS
