Ndolo wants more schools of excellence
17 May 2018
North West Regional and Developmental coach, Meleko Ndolo has expressed worry about the lack of schools of excellence across the country.
Ndolo expressed his worry on the sidelines of the official closing ceremony of the 2018 Confederation School Sport Association of Southern African Athletic Championships (COSASSA) held in Francistown recently.
He explained that the lack of schools of excellence is one major contributing factor that discourages some individuals to further explore and unearth their God given talents.
Ndolo observed that individuals only have the opportunity to explore their talents whilst they are still at primary, secondary, senior and tertiary institutions, explaining that those who did not manage to go through these institutions are often sidelined.
As such he called upon the government and other stakeholders to highly consider investing in the establishment of schools of excellence to close this gap.He maintained that this could go a long way in assisting the youth to unearth and nurture their talents for the betterment of their lives.
In addition, Ndolo explained that the schools of excellence could also play a pivotal role in keeping the participants busy and hence refrain from anti-social behaviours, which are a cause of concern to the nation.
He appreciated the continuous efforts by government in introducing some programmes geared at improving and assisting the youth to unearth their talents to economically empower themselves. ENDS
