Small businesses ready for beef festival

14 May 2018

Small business people in and around Lobatse are gearing up for the sixth edition of the annual Lobatse International Beef Festival slated for June 30.

In an interview, event organiser Mr Barolong Seboni, said the festival was an opportunity for small businesses to make more money.

Mr Seboni indicated that this year rates would be dropped drastically for small businesses exhibitors. “The stalls will be less than P500,” he stated.

He also disclosed that regular small business exhibitors would be given special treatment to recognise and appreciate their support.

This year corporate exhibitors from South Africa especially those without representation in Botswana, have been invited, he said.

He said the idea was for SA exhibitors to come and experience what Botswana had to offer in this sector.

Mr Seboni said the festival continued to give patrons a friendly and warm atmosphere each year adding that this year would be no different.

Last year, the festival added to the usual offering of braai delicacies of mokoto, tlhako, mokwetjepe and serobe.

The additions have proven to be a favorite among patrons, he said.

The festival will be held at Lobatse Town Park showcasing local meat,  vendors peddling their wares and will feature popular local artistes as well as a notable international artiste.

The event also is aimed at promoting Botswana’s beef industry and Lobatse as a viable town for business.ENDS
