Skelemani leaves for Jamaica

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr Phandu Skelemani will lead a Botswana delegation to Kingston, Jamaica to participate at the inaugural Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC) from July 24 to 25.
A press release from the ministry states that Botswana and Jamaica signed an agreement on establishing a JPCC in September 2011, to provide a platform for the two countries to cooperate in a number of areas including agriculture, trade and industry and sports and culture, among others.
The two countries established diplomatic relations in May 1982 with relations mainly focused on the education sector.
The release states that the JPCC will be held every two years interchangeably between the two countries. ENDS
