Matambo attends IMF World Bank meetings

Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Kenneth Matambo, will today (April 16), depart for Washington D.C., USA to attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group Spring meetings from April 17-22.
A press release from the ministry says Minister Matambo will be accompanied by Secretary for Economic and Financial Policy, Dr Taufila Nyamadzabo, and other senior officials from the ministry.
The meetings, accoding to the release, will discuss the global economic outlook, IMF and World Bank supported programmes, as well as financial resources required to enhance economic growth and development in developing economies.
Mr Matambo will also attend the Africa Group I Constituency meeting, where African governors will be appraised on the deliberations of Executive Boards of World Bank Group and discuss constituency matters relating to the World Bank.
He will also attend the Development Committee meeting which, among others, discusses financing for sustainable development, mainstreaming disaster risk management in the World Bank Group operations, as well as provide updates on gender diversity in executive boards of the World Bank Group.
Minister Matambo and his delegation are expected to be back in Gaborone on April 24. ENDS
