1 122 plots serviced in Motswedi Plantation areas

Minister of Lands and Housing has told Parliament that the total number of plots which were serviced in Motswedi and Plantation /Airstrip areas is 1 122 comprising 1 078 residential, 25 industrial, six commercial and 13 civic and community plots.
Responding to a parliamentary question, Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake noted that the number of residential plots allocated in the Plantation/Airstrip area was 935 and that there were no allocations at Motswedi. He further said there were no commercial plots which were allocated in those areas.
In addition, Mr Mokalake said all the non-residential plots in all the areas and 143 residential plots at Motswedi had not been allocated. “The reason for non-allocation of the non-residential plots in the area is that at the time of advertising the other plots in Lobatse, the said plots were still being loaded into the computer system,” Minister Mokalake said.
He further noted that the registration of plots in Motswedi to Certificate of Registered State Title (CRST) was delayed due to some technical problems encountered, hence non allocation thereof.
Lobatse MP, Mr Nehemiah Modubule had wanted the minister to state the number of plots that were serviced in the Plantation/Airstrip and Motswedi areas and further state the number of residential and commercial plots allocated.
Mr Modubule also wanted the minister to state the plots allocated so far and unallocated plots and reasons for non-allocation. ENDS
