Tshireletso clarifies criteria on nominated councillors

Assistant minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told Parliament that, the criteria used to nominate Councillors is that of nominating an individual who will bring skill and knowledge to the council, and consideration for gender and youth issues, including people with disabilities and the vulnerable members of the community.
She also said, to her knowledge, there is nominated councilor for Francistown South Constituency and consequently there is no anomaly in this regard.
Ms Tshireletso was responding to questions asked by Member of Parliament for Francistown South, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi who had asked her about, what criteria is used to nominate Councillors, why there is no nominated councilor in Francistown South and when this anomaly will be addressed. ENDS
