Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has thanked Manyana residents for having displayed unity and love during his tenure as Member of Parliament for the area.

The Vice President who is also Member of Parliament for Moshupa-Manyana constituency and will be leaving the Parliamentary office on March 31 to assume the country’s highest position on April 1, implored constituents to continue with the good work, adding they were exemplary in numerous ways.

Bidding them farewell on Monday, Mr Masisi implored other villages to follow suit if they were to achieve great things in life.

He told residents that solar energy in the village would be illuminated soon of which the project would spread throughout the constituency.

Mr Masisi said it was imperative that the legacy he was leaving behind in the constituency continued thus he implored residents to vote wisely for a credible new member of parliament that will bring in developments and continue from where he left-off.

The Vice President expressed gratitude for residents to have accorded him two five-year terms that led to him ascending to the country’s top position.

For his part, Kgosi Kebinatshwene Mosielele of Manyana said his people voted wisely as they were voting for a future president thus he thanked God for answering their prayers for Mr Masisi to have arrived at the pinnacle of leadership.

He therefore thanked Masisi family for raising a man of his caliber, who dedicated his time and energy to serving the nation emphatically.

However, Village Development Committee chairperson Mr Kerapetse Oageng appreciated the Vice President’s efforts in bringing uncountable developments in the area citing the introduction of Bikwe Satellite Primary School and Special Education Unit at Manyana, among others as some of the advances that humbled him.

Mr Oageng expressed gratification for Out of School Education and Training (OSET) programme, noting it has up-skilled a lot of learners in the constituency thus eradicating poverty.

He said OSET delivered sustainable literacy and explored opportunities in providing learning for all, emphatically pointing out that OSET affords learning to adults who would otherwise be excluded from learning opportunities by age.

He said 82 people benefited from poverty eradication in the village thus he extended his warm farewell appreciation to the Vice President for such a benevolence gesture.

He wished God’s right righteous hand upon Mr Masisi in his new role in a few days-time.

A poverty eradication beneficiary, Ms Keaepha Masuku who has now graduated into horticultural farming was lost for words in testifying about the goodness of the programme.ENDS
