Benchmarking good for businesses-WIBA

26 Mar 2018

Maun women have been encouraged to associate themselves with other women who are in business to benchmark and improve their business entities.

This was said by Women In Business Association (WIBA) president Ms Nametso Ntsosa-Carr at a women -in -business gathering held at Sentlhaga Guesthouse and Safaris in Maun organised by the association.

Ms Ntsosa-Carr said women must be supporting pillars to each in other in order to grow together in their different businesses.

She said WIBA was formed to provide financial support and empower women who want to venture into businesses and those in existing businesses through seminars and other business functions.

Ms Ntsosa-Carr further said the association would soon open its regional offices in Maun to make its services easily accessible to the people of Maun.

Ms Ntsosa-Carr said businesses sometimes collapsed due to owners’ bad attitude towards the business and customers, bad pricing of goods as well as lack of or bad business marketing skills.

She also stated that as business people they should not fear to visit any financial institutions for start-up capital or funds to boost their businesses.

“As women let us stand up and get into businesses, go out there network with other women in business and learn from their business expertise,” she said.

Furthermore, she urged women to take advantage of social media particularly Facebook and WhatsApp to market their businesses.

Moreover, she advised the gathering to do a thorough market research on the product they wanted to sell and the target market for their products.

Maun business woman Ms Matilda Bethia thanked WIBA for the gathering and encouraged her fellow business women to never cease making an attempt even after failing saying that failures were lessons for one to work even harder. Ends
