MP appreciates organising committee

President’s farewell organising committee, members of the community and Palapye business community were awarded a certificate as a token of appreciation for their contribution that had made President’s farewell party a success.

Speaking in a short ceremony at Botsalo Hotel, area MP, Basic Education assistant minister, Mr Moiseraele Goya said without the business community, committee and the community at large the biding of President farewell could not have been successful.

Mr Goya said he was aware that they spent sleepless nights. 

He said this is the time for Palapye and the business community to team up and come with solid and concrete ideas on how best they can create employment for the community.

He said their large contributions show that they are part and parcel of the community they are living with. 

He said they can vary with culture and nationalities, but it does not mean that they cannot work together as they have played a pivotal role towards the activity.

He said the committee, members of the community and business community had made Palapye proud and their present of farm materials were appreciated by the President, who was delighted by the unique present.

He urged the business community to always interact with local authorities for the smooth running of their business, and to have a platform that will discuss issues of concerns and come up with solutions. 

Speaking on behalf of business communities,  Makoro Brick and Tile general manager, Ms Dorcus Mosesha said as Botswana business community they want to see this country growing in terms of employment as they are capable of creating employment, provided they pull together and work as a team.

She said recently they met with the minister of Trade and Industry. Touching on topics of concern. She noted that unless and until government recognises the importance of business community in this country, nothing will change. 

She said the bureaucracy is the contributory factor that delays business to grow and create employment

She appealed to the government to make some laws and regulations flexible in order to attract potential investors.

Ms Mosesha said Palapye business community was more than ready to create employment as Palapye was one of the potential areas that can reduce the high rate of unemployment. 

Earlier on the chairperson of the committee, Mr Motsepe Kgosikwena gave a summary briefing report on how much they had collected during the farewell.He said they managed to raise over P44 000 the largest share of which was from the companies and business community.

For his part, Kgosi Michael Maforoga gave a pat on the back to Palapye business community for a job well done.  ENDS
