PSP motivates Spiritual Healing Church
20 Mar 2018
Spiritual Healing Church congregation at Mookane has been challenged to jealously guard the church against social ills that are likely to break up the church and cause misuse of funds.
Speaking at the conclusion of a 10-kilometre sponsored walk on Saturday, Permanent Secretary to the President, Mr Carter Morupisi said indulgence in alcohol, deception and infighting among church members are some of the ills that the church must uproot at all costs.
Mr Morupisi advised Christians to strive to lead holy lives according to the will of God.
Mr Morupisi said the country was faced with rising levels of crime due to alcohol and drug abuse perpetrated largely by young people.
He said the theme of the walk was well thought as it advocated for religious institutions to encourage the youth to desist from alcohol and drug abuse by luring them to church and church-related activities.
Mr Morupisi said government was working tirelessly to deter young people from engaging in drugs and alcohol abuse.
He said the walk provided an opportunity for the church and the public at large to stand up and fight against the bad habits.
“I implore you to join hands with government in dealing with the rising levels of indiscipline among young people by teaching them the word of God and the importance of submitting before God, he said.
Mr Morupisi also added that the walk was aimed at helping the church raise funds for constructing a baptismal pool and renovating the church structure.
He commended the church for organising the event as it would help the church to grow by luring young people to be part of the congregation.
Mr Morupisi donated P10 000 to assist in realising their anticipated projects and further advised them to continue appreciating the good that God is doing to the nation.
Mr Morupisi also highlighted the importance of a healthy body.
He said non-communicable disease are of late recorded as the greatest threat to life and therefore activities such as sponsored walks would not only benefit the church by raising funds, but contribute immensely to their health.
Bishop Bampoloki Rantsudu advised church members to actively engage in regular exercise.
Bishop Rantsudu said people must desist from taking medication whenever they experience pain, adding that exercising provides a cure for most of the body ailments.
He further appealed to the church to ask for assistance, but contribute a larger share for the sponsored walk as those invited would only augment what they have already gathered.
Meanwhile, Reverend Kabo Baitshenyetsi said the church was concerned by the social ills challenging the society, more so that the population of young people at church was diminishing.
Reverend Baitshenyetsi said March is the month of youth against HIV/AIDS and therefore the church had seen it fit to encourage the youth to actively get involved in fighting the disease.
He also said the congregation was engaged in annual fund raising activities to fund church projects. Ends
