Parliament has been informed that the Ministry of Basic Education would disburse funds to Madiba Secondary School next month to connect electricity to the temporary porta camp units in the school.

Responding to a question asked by Mahalapye West Member of Parliament, Mr Joseph Molefe, Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya said his ministry was aware that the school had been provided with porta camp units after the school administration block was consumed by fire.

“A new administration block is expected to be constructed in the financial year 2019/2020,” he said.

MP Molefe had wanted to know if the minister was aware that Madiba Senior Secondary School had been issued with temporary porta camp units for use as administration offices, but had since not been electrified.

The minister was also to state when the temporary porta camp units would be electrified for staff to carry out their administrative work effectively and when the burnt administration block would be constructed. ENDS
