Investigations reveal technology suitability
17 Jul 2013
Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Mr Kitso Mokaila told Parliament last week that preliminary investigations by the task team that was set to look at sustainability and viability of fuel marking in Botswana have revealed that the technology may be suitable provided there is rampant fuel adulteration, smuggling and theft.
Mr Mokaila added that fuel marking technology was dependent upon availability of appropriate legal framework and his ministry was currently developing the Petroleum Supply Act.
The minster was responding to a question from Palapye MP, Mr Moiseraele Goya who had wanted to know if a task team that was set up to look at suitability and viability of fuel marking in Botswana had reported its findings. ENDS
