Rovers beat Fighters 2-1

13 Mar 2018

Mochudi Rovers beat Mogoditshane Fighters 2-1 and collected three points in a Debswana First Division South game on March 10.

Rovers coach Patrick Molefe said he was over the moon for the win especially that his players obeyed his instructions which led to the win. He emphasised the importance of winning games to garner points so that when the season ends they occupy a better place in the log.

Coach Molefe said the 49th minute goal that came in through a free kick by Ronald Kefilwe gave his team an upper hand as they continued to dominate the game. He said even though his players missed several chances that could have given them a better lead, he was happy that they won the game.

Molefe regretted the concentration lapse in the 89th minute when the Samba boys scored their first goal adding that concentration was critical in the dying minutes of the game.

He said Fighters was a strong and well organised team but they had good tactics in place to deny them opportunities to beat them. As much as Rovers launched attacks on Fighters, they also had a good game and missed chances that could have seen them win the game or at least take a point home.

Fighters coach Kelebogile Honda Kgannyeng said he least expected the results of the game more so that ke knew Rovers very well. He said he was disappointed by his players as they lacked zeal in the first half of the game which gave more possession and home advantage to Rovers. Coach Kgannyeng said his players have squandered many chances they had which resulted in them losing the game. ENDS
