Gunners beat Sankoyo

Extension Gunners proved their seniority against Sankoyo Bush Bucks by collecting the much needed three points in an interesting encounter played at Maun Sports Complex on March 10 afternoon.
The Lobatse giants, popularly known as “Mapantsula” beat Maun lads 2-1, courtesy of goals from sensational Ofentse Mmipi in the last minute of the first half and right winger Ronald Olaki in the 49th minute of the second half.
The two goals sent the sizeable Mapantsula supporters into wild celebrations, as the majority travelled over 1000 km to rally behind their team.
Although it was Ngurungu who tested the net first as their consolation goal came through a brilliant pass by their striker Gofaone Manuel in the 22th minute as he caught Gunners goal keeper Katlego Mbise off guard.
For the first 30 minutes of the first half, it was not clear as to which team would walk away victorious as both teams were putting in their best efforts.
Gunners striking trio of, Mothusi Cooper, Mmipi and Kenanao Kgetholetsile wasted what could have been a burial of Ngurungu with an avalanche of goals.
The game was marred by lot of fouls especially on the Ngurungu side as a few of their players were yellow carded while their striker, Morris Ruzivo was red carded for frequent rough tackles against their opponents.
Despite their silly mistakes, Sankoyo could have equalised but it was not their day as the boys seemed to be goal shy even when they were in a position that made it almost impossible to miss. Ends
