MoESD purchases 35 houses

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) has purchased 35 houses from Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) that were allocated to Shakawe Senior Secondary School teachers for the period that they were accommodated in Maun.

Assistant Minister Patrick Masimolole told Parliament that the houses were vacated in January and were subsequently allocated to primary and secondary schools teachers from schools around Maun. He said the occupancy by new occupants started on April 14.

Mr Masimolole was responding to questions from MP for Gaborone Central, Mr Dumelang Saleshando, who asked about the number of houses that were secured from BHC for Shakawe Secondary School teachers for the period that they were accommodated in Maun.

Mr Saleshando also wanted to know the date on which the houses were vacated and who the houses were subsequently allocated to as well as the date of occupancy by the new occupants.  ENDS
