27 Feb 2018
Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Shaw Kgathi has said Legal Aid Botswana employs two foreigners whose contracts will expire on March 31 2018 and March 31, 2019 respectively and both posts will be localised in that order.
Mr Kgathi who was responding to a question in Parliament also stated that a citizen would be appointed to replace the chief executive officer when the incumbent’s contract expired on 3 the set dates and in the interim a citizen executive manager would be earmarked to understudy the chief executive officer.
Further, the minister explained that the mediation and alternative dispute resolution manager post would be localised when the current manager’s contract expired on March 31, 2018.
Member of Parliament for Francistown East, Mr Buti Billy, had asked the minister if Legal Aid Botswana had a localisation policy. ENDS
