Ministry to fill vacancies by March

27 Feb 2018

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has said there are four vacant posts at Tribal Administration in Mabutsane Sub -district and the posts were created in September and October 2017.

The posts include office cleaner at Khakhea, headman of record, office cleaner at Kanaku and headman of record at Kutuku.

Ms Tshireletso explained that the delay in filling the vacancies emanated from the freeze imposed on recruitment within the ministry from November 2017 to January  31, 2018 which was meant to offset over-expenditure occasioned by the upgrading of salaries for dikgosi and allowances for headmen of arbitration and councillors as well as Social Benefits which effected on April 1, 2017 and were not budgeted for. She said the vacancies would be filled by March 31,2018.

Ms Tshireletso highlighted that the ministry had no plans to upgrade more villages in the next two financial years. Member of Parliament for Jwaneng-Mabutsane, Mr Shawn Ntlhaile had asked her to state the number of vacant posts in the Tribal Administration in Mabutsane Sub-district, the reasons for the delay in filling the posts and the names of villages earmarked for upgrading in the next two financial years.ENDS
