Police in Gaborone have arrested a couple, 38-year-old man and his wife aged 32 years on February 22 for harbouring a 32-year-old suspect wanted for various cases of shop breaking and armed robberies committed around the country.

A press release from Botswana Police Service states that the suspect was arrested together with two men aged 35 and 38 years and a woman aged 35 years.

It says the suspects were found in possession of various household items including cell phones and wrist watches and at the time of arrest the suspect was on bail for similar offences.

Furthermore, it states that police have also arrested a 30-year-old man of Maipei ward in Mogoditshane for harbouring 19 illegal women immigrants.  The man was believed to have been renting his house to these women from Zimbabwe.

“Seven of the Zimbabwean women were charged with unlawful remaining in Botswana whilst 12 were charged for entering through ungazetted point of entry,” reads the release. ENDS
