The Minister of Basic Education says developments at Dukwi Junior Secondary School and Nxakato will be initiated in 2018/19 financial year and will consist of classrooms and science laboratories.

Responding to a parliamentary question, Dr Unity Dow said that not all staff houses in both schools were shared as the school head, deputy head, heads of departments, matron andboarding masters do not share in Dukwi Junior Secondary School whereas in Nxakato Junior School all staff shared except for the school head and deputy .

Dr  Dow also noted that Dukwi Junior Secondary School had recorded a total of nine dropouts while Nxakato recorded four dropouts in 2017 and neither school had recorded any dropout in 2018.

MP for Nata-Gweta Mr Polson Majaga had asked the minister when the second phase of the ESP would start to cater for scarcity of classrooms and staff accommodation at Dukwi and Nxakato junior secondary schools.

He also asked the minister if she was aware that all staff houses were shared regardless of the staff’s marital status.

The MP had further asked the minister if she was aware that there were many school dropouts.ENDS
