Contractor delays Sejelo police road
21 Feb 2018
Delays in the commencement on the strip of road from Sejelo Police Station to the Mmathethe turn off on the Kanye-Lobatse road is a result of the contractor having concentrated on the construction of the main road, Mmankgodi junction Kanye-Jwaneng road, where most of the contractor’s resources are deployed.
Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Mr Nonofo Molefhi said this in response to a parliamentary question on behalf of the Minister of Transport and Communications.
Mr Molefhi stated that currently there were no project affected persons (PAPs) identified along the strip of the road from Sejelo Police Station to Mmathethe turn off. He said there would be no relocations.
Member of Parliament for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile had asked the minister if he was aware that work had not commenced to date on the strip of road from Sejelo Police Station to Mmathethe turn off on the Kanye-Lobatse road.
He also wanted the minister to state the number of compounds (residential units, business units and churches) that would be affected by the road construction work on the strip, and the number of units for relocation to new sites. ENDS
